WELCOME TO PASSAGES

I'M SO GLAD YOU ARE HERE

We have midwives and doulas, doctors and nurses to assist in ushering new life into this world. Why not have a companion—a guide—to usher us out?

My name is Rebecca Valentine, and my role as a trained end-of-life-doula calls upon me to serve as a physical, emotional, and spiritual guide as my clients make their way through their final transition and eventually leave this earth.  I’ll meet you with compassion, wherever you are in your journey, and together we will cultivate a space that allows you to continue being your best self, right up to your last breath.

Why Choose Passages?

As a certified end-of-life doula, I offer compassionate support and guidance to individuals and families navigating the end-of-life journey. My approach is centered on providing comfort, understanding, and companionship during this sensitive time. Together, we can determine what you want and need, even if you’re not sure what that is yet.

Meet Your Certified End-of-Life Doula

As your End-of-Life Doula, my goal is to empower you—in whatever way you need—throughout this sacred,  often challenging time. Formally, I trained through the Larner College of Medicine, University of Vermont. I received my certificate in End-of-Life Doula for both humans and companion animals. But my experience with this line of work began with the death of my father, years ago. Though I had no name for it then, I eventually realized that I was acting in the capacity of an EOLD in every way.

I came to this profession later in life, having made my living as a writer for nearly 30 years as I raised four children to adulthood. Once the house was quiet and all I could hear was the chatter of backyard birds, it eventually dawned on me that I was being called to provide something else to my world, something I had not previously considered. After months of doing what I do—that is, research—I realized I could not research my way to discovery of what this new calling was. No amount of analyzing or guessing or investigation led me to an answer. I simply had to open myself up to possibility. When I did that, I heard the call. And I answered it.

I make my home with my husband Rick and Ben the dog on our homestead, Potato Hill Farm, in Enfield. I’m here for you and your loved ones, ready to guide and support you through your time of transition.

Life is eternal

and love is immortal

and death is only a horizon.

And the horizon is nothing

save the limit of our sight.
